While we’re happy to share our expertise on sand, the descriptions below will answer many of your questions about which type of sand best fits your needs:

Mason Sand – also known as Beach Sand, this is the kind of sand you’ll want to wiggle your toes in, build a sculpture with or watch the little ones play in. A fine grade sand, it comes in bags up to 90 pounds and also comes in bulk (remember, Lester’s also delivers). It’s customary uses include:

• Volleyball Courts
• Playgrounds & Sandboxes
• Under Pool Liners
• Mixed with Masonry Cement

Jointing Sand – this is also a fine grade of sand. However, unlike mason sand, jointing sand has all the clays washed out. Sorry, it won’t hold together for sand sculpting on the beach but it’s great for filling between the joints of paved bricks on your drive, walkway or patio.
